MEET THE DIRECTOR

Khalida Jawadi (KJ) has been in the finance sector since 2011, starting as an Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable and landing a Financial Controller role in recent years. At that time, she worked in many businesses, from start-ups to multi-million dollar companies. She always managed to bring the teams together in these organisations and moved into process improvement in those roles to make them more efficient, simpler, and beneficial for the organisations.

After working through AP, AR, Payroll, BAS lodgments, Audit, Year End tax preparations and Financial/Management reporting to Board, she knew she wanted to start your own business. KJ aims to assist small to medium organisations in achieving Big organisational goals. During her second job as a fitness Instructor at Bacchus Marsh, she met an accountant who soon introduced her to Kelly, the founder of Accounts by Day.

Khalida and Kelly joined forces in 2023.

Khalida loves spreadsheets and numbers, but more so, just like Bob, the builder, she likes to fix financial things. She has assisted many businesses in achieving their ultimate potential, helping them grow with her skills to clean up” and better understand their particular positions.

Khalida has been recognized in multiple organizations for her ability to improve processes and train employees and business owners to see their businesses in a better financial light.

Khalida also has extensive knowledge and experience with Xero & Myob and other softwares used in specific organizations. Her ideal goal is to ensure the Client is in control of their finances and not the other way around.

Meet the Founder

Kelly Day has been in the finance sector since 1987, starting in the stockbroking industry and moving to bookkeeping when family came along. In that time, she assisted many businesses, from start-ups to rescues to training and maintenance. She empowered her clients to maximise their capabilities and software and understand their financial position within their companies. Kelly loves nothing more than taking someone from knowing nothing about bookkeeping to seeing them optimise their potential and being able to manage their business and financials from their accounts, or doing it all for them and taking away the stress!

Kelly knows exactly what it’s like to start your own business; after working in a public accountant’s office, Kelly decided to launch her own business; she jumped off the cliff, pulled on the rip cord and, thankfully, the parachute opened, and here she still is, helping clients to achieve their best in their endeavours!

“Accredited Trainer of The Year”

Kelly is a Reckon Accredited Partner and, in 2005, was awarded the prestigious “Accredited Trainer of The Year award, she is the most nominated trainer since the award’s inception in 2000, having been nominated in 2005, 2007, 2008, 2009 and 2010. Being elected by your peers is a great honour and testament to Kelly mentoring her fellow trainers, establishing the Victorian Regional Accredited Partners Group and starting the Southern States State Conference for Reckon Accredited Trainers and Bookkeepers.

Kelly was recently recognised for her 20+ years of partnership (25 years) with Reckon at the National Conference held in Sydney.

Kelly also has extensive knowledge and experience with Xero & QBO and has successfully transitioned many clients to greater efficiencies & features of modern software. And loves nothing more than seeing clients blown away by the gains clients achieve by utilising modern technology.
